The Gut Check: Your weekly pulse on intuition, strategy, and decisive leadership.
Hi Reader,
Last week, I let the newsletter go quiet. Did you notice? Maybe, maybe not.
May is always a busy month for me. So many reasons to celebrate: birthdays (mine and my daughter's ♉️), mother's day, my independence day.
It's the kind of busy that’s deeply meaningful and invites reflection. So I stepped back.
Not because I didn’t have anything to say, but because I wanted to hear myself think.
It’s my “reflect + learn” month in personal results management, my ritual of setting iterative and aspirational goals.
What’s come through is this:
Leadership doesn’t just happen in action. It sharpens in stillness.
The pause is part of the power.
Here’s what came through for me, and what I want to offer you as you consider slowing down to build your own momentum.

🃏 Weekly Corporate Tarot Cards® Pull: Communication
Purpose Doesn’t Always Feel Like Progress
Each week I pull Corporate Tarot Cards® to answer leadership questions. This week I ask about how to sustain your energy when doing purpose-led work. Our card is Communication—a message for anyone feeling the passion behind their purpose but needing a little more fuel to keep going.
It’s not just about doing the work.
It’s about naming the value. Saying your why out loud.
Helping others understand the motivation behind your effort.
That’s how energy sustains in purpose-driven work.

Purpose-driven work can feel heavy when it goes unrecognized. This week’s Corporate Tarot Card® is Communication. Share your purpose. Speak it out loud. Let it land. Energy flows when we let others in. Drop a comment if this resonates or if you’re naming your why out loud this week. #CorporateTarotCards #IntuitionStrategy #LeadershipTools #PurposeWork #SelfLeadership #EnergyMatters #fyp

✨ Year Two: What I’ve Unlearned, Built & Become
Two years ago, I left corporate. I recognize this day each year as my "independence day".
Since then, I’ve treated this chapter as my own personal interdisciplinary graduate degree in leadership, creativity, systems, and self-reflection.
This post is my graduation speech: a look at what I’ve unlearned, what I’ve built, and how I’ve turned early frustration into purposeful action.
Last year I shared an essay, this year it's a podcast. Each are fully grounded in the work of transforming leadership and culture from the inside out.

🎙️ Redefining Success with Michelle-Kim Cohen
What happens when you step off the treadmill of external expectations—and start listening to your gut?
In this powerful episode, I talk with Michelle-Kim Cohen—attorney, mother, caregiver, and intentional leader—about what it really looks like to pause, reflect, and rebuild a life rooted in values instead of validation.
After taking a 10-month sabbatical to care for her father, Michelle redefined what success, peace, and leadership mean to her.
We talk about pausing with power, letting go of “shoulds,” and making decisions rooted in values, not fear.
If you’re standing at a crossroads, this one will meet you right there.

Intuition is fast. Leadership requires you to slow it down.
Not every instinct is meant to be acted on in the moment.
Some signals ask you to pause, reflect, and listen deeper.
This is the work. Learning when to move... and when to get quiet enough to hear what’s really being asked of you.
I’m working on a new series on how to hear, interpret, and trust your intuition. If you’ve got a question or idea to share with me as I build, I'd love to hear it.
(Just reply to this email to share your ideas with me.)
With you in the pause and the power,
